What it Means to Be a Child of God<\/h3>\n

\"WhatJohn 1:12 (NKJV) 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.<\/p>\n

Is Everyone a Child of God?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Have you ever heard the expression, \u201cwe are all God\u2019s children\u201d? It’s a very common phrase that we hear a lot these days. So, there is little doubt that we have probably all heard it at one time or another.<\/p>\n

Somewhere along the way, the enemy planted seeds that grew into this terrible lie in order to deceive millions upon millions into thinking that being born into this world makes them one of God\u2019s children.<\/p>\n

But did you know that phrase is a lie?<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s take a look at the two verses above and see why this is so.<\/p>\n

Verse 12 states very clearly, \u201cto them He gave the right to become children of God\u201d.<\/p>\n

Who is \u201cthem\u201d?<\/p>\n

The word, “them”, is referring to \u201cas many as received Him<\/strong>\u201d and \u201cthose who believe in His name<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n

This is referring to anyone who has put their faith and trust in Him, offering loyalty, faithfulness and devotion to Him in their heart.<\/p>\n

Look a Little Deeper<\/strong><\/p>\n

And to further dispel the lie, take a look at verse 13.<\/p>\n

This applies to those \u201cwho were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God\u201d.<\/p>\n

As you can see, simply being born (of the flesh, of blood, or by the will of man) does not make us God\u2019s children.<\/p>\n

We are creations<\/em> of God. But nowhere does this say that we are His children, simply by being born.<\/p>\n

A Child of God?<\/strong><\/p>\n

So, what does<\/em> make us a child of God?<\/p>\n

Being born \u201cof God\u201d.<\/p>\n

Jesus referred to this as being \u201cborn again\u201d.<\/p>\n

John 3:3 (NKJV) 3 Jesus answered and said to him, \u201cMost assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God<\/span>.\u201d<\/p>\n

The phrase \u201cborn again\u201d literally means \u201cborn from above\u201d, which equates to being born \u201cof God\u201d.<\/p>\n

And there you have it, very plain and simple.<\/p>\n

Let us all pray that more people will get this understanding and become true children of God.<\/p>\n
